  • Harrison Home Destroyed By Fire Late Monday Night
  • A Harrison home was destroyed by fire last night.  When the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department reached the house on Melanie Lane, it was fully involved.  The home-owner, Everett Sims had just filled a propane heater in the living room … and after he lit it, walked into another part of the house.

He said he heard an explosion in the living room and went to investigate.

He said the furniture was on fire … so he tried to put it out.

Unable to do that, Sims escaped from the house … he wasn’t hurt.

Fire Chief Danny Smith says a series of explosions that followed blew debris hundreds of feet from the home.

Damages are estimated at $150,000 dollars.
