    Leyla Jouvana is bellydancing royalty

535aebellydance1I first became interested in bellydancing four years ago, and quickly became obsessed. The more I learned, the more I wanted to know. A name kept popping up in the classes and workshops I attended, and when uttered it was always in admiration and awe. Leyla Jouvana. I soon discovered that she was no ordinary dancer, oh no, she was the bellydancer.

Leyla Jouvana is known all over the world and has actually earned the title of “International Shimmy Queen.” She has 18 performance DVDs distributed in Germany and 10 available in the US, as well as three instructional DVDs, which were international bestsellers. Leyla is mainly known for her Cabaret and Egyptian techniques, as well as her skill in commanding a drum solo, and her unique fusion of all different styles of bellydance. Let us not forget the shimmy, to which she holds the throne, as she has 1,001 different variations of this maneuver.
