548shadesgreenWe all know that the green commuting revolution is coming, some day. The decline of gas prices-coinciding suspiciously with the election, methinks-and the decline in temperatures means no one is rushing to break off their love affair with the automobile. Our fair city is especially ripe for the revolution for several reasons. The South enjoys what I consider mild weather nine months of the year. (Then there’s summer.) The city of Chattanooga is eminently bike-able: St. Elmo to the North Shore takes 15 minutes of dogged, but flat pedaling. And despite some pretty unfriendly motorists, we have a lot of great outspoken cyclists in town.
