Disclaimer: I am about to present you with a list of Top 5s, based on my polling everyone I’ve have come across in the last month by text, e-mail, interweb, or face-to-face. I have my own personal picks, but I decided to ask around because I don’t need to start off the New Year with a bunch of hate mail. Trust me, I get enough of that anyway.
Also, some of the bands were mentioned in multiple genres, which isn’t surprising coming from a scene that uses five subgenres to describe bands, i.e., “post-punk screamo-core-rock.”

However, I will start off with my overall favorites. The rest were calculated by all the feedback I got from you guys, thanks!
