    Written by Gary Poole
    August 28, 2009 – 10:35 am

swine-fluHamilton County now has a confirmed death from the H1N1 Swine Flu virus.  The confirmation came from T.C. Thomspson Children’s Hospital. The child wasn’t a resident of Chattanooga or Hamilton County, but was transferred here from another facility.

Hospital officials urge parents concerned about the flu to get more information from their pediatrician or Erlanger hospital’s website at www.erlanger.org

Also, UTC has confirmed a third case of swine flu among its student body.  Chuck Cantrell, with the university, said the students live off-campus and that the school is following CDC guidelines.

Any student exhibiting flu symptoms are asked to stay home from classes until they are fever-free without medication for 24 hours

All three patients are recuperating at home.
