The widow of a former pipefitter for Combustion Engineering has won a record $1.4 million in a lawsuit against North Brothers. Marion Jackson was awarded the verdict by a Hamilton County jury on Monday.
Jackson says her husband was exposed to asbestos over a period of 34 years.
Her attorneys claim the asbestos was in products manufactured by North Brothers and resulted in Wayne Jackson contracting Mesothelioma, a deadly form of cancer.
The award is believed to be the first successful judgement against North Brothers.
