County Urges City To Reconsider Storm Fees

    Written by Louis Lee
    October 29, 2009 – 5:21 pm

stormwaterHamilton County commissioners have added their voices to those complaining about a steep hike in water treatment fees.  County Mayor Claude Ramsey said he will ask Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield if anything can be done to ease the severity of the increase.

Ramsey says the city is likely under some sort of mandate, but that area businesses and churches will be especially hard-hit when the new rate – about triple the current rate – hits consumers.

Commissioner Bill Hullander complained that the county is trying to get businesses to relocate in the area, and things like this rate increase only hurt their efforts.
