New Annexations Approved By City Council

    Written by Gary Poole
    October 20, 2009 – 11:50 pm

council1The second phase of city annexation continues, with the Chattanooga City Council passing on first reading two new annexation ordinances. However, one parcel – Area 3A adjacent to Interstate 24 and the Tennessee River – has no residential areas.

The other parcel, Area 4B is a residential area, but was cut down by Mayor Littlefield quite a bit from the original plan before being presented to the council.

Several residents were at the council meeting Tuesday night, but no one spoke in opposition to the new plan.

The area now only includes areas near Gold Crest, Dahl Springs and Fairview Road.

A final reading on the two areas will be voted upon at next Tuesday’s regularly scheduled council meeting.
