Mayor Ramsey Picks Up Re-Election Papers

    Written by Louis Lee
    November 27, 2009 – 10:24 am

claude_ramseyThere was some speculation that helping land Volkswagen would be his crowning achievement and would be a nice time to retire from public service. But Hamilton County Mayor Claude Ramsey settled the rumors Wednesday when he picked up papers from the election commission to run for another term.

Sheriff Jim Hammond also picked up election papers.

They will be challenged, respectively, by Richard Rankin and Lloyd Clendenen.

In addition to Ramsey, seven incumbent county commissioners will be running for re-election.

They are: Richard Casavant, Fred Skillern, Larry Henry, Greg Beck, Warren Mackey, John Brooks and Jim Coppinger.

Chairman Curtis Adams announced he is not running again in District 8.
