    Written by Louis Lee
    November 4, 2009 – 3:19 pm

report cardThe Hamilton County Department of Education has gotten its report card from the state … and the news isn’t good.  A dozen schools in the system received straight “F”s, with math being one of the worst subjects.

Overall, Supertendent Dr. Jim Scales says, the system is keeping pace with the state.

Individual schools failing to make the grade included the 21st Century Academy, Calvin Donaldson, Clifton Hills, East Lake, Hardy, Hillcrest, Orchard Knob, Rivermont and Woodmore elementary schools.

Scales pointed out that 13 schools made straight “A”s on the state report … they included Apison, Big Ridge, CSLA, Normal Park, Thrasher, and Signal Mountain Middle.
