Cyclist Collides With Car, Ends Up In Hospital

    Written by Gary Poole
    November 11, 2009 – 6:01 pm

A near-tragedy was averted Wednesday morning when a cyclist on Middle Valley Road crossed into the path of an oncoming car.  Chattanooga police say that the motorist, who was driving on Old Hixson Pike, was not at fault in the incident.

The cyclist received several lacerations and abrasions and was taken to Erlanger Hospital.

    His injuries are not life-threatening.

No charges will be filed against the motorist, as police noted it was the cyclist who failed to yield right-of-way.
