    Flu Claims Three Lives, Health Department Reports

    swine-fluWith the flu season upon us, officials at the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department confirmed today that three people had died from complications of the flu since September 1st.

    Health Department administrator Becky Barnes said that Hamilton County is continuing to experience significant influenza illness.

    The three who have died were 27, 51 and 77 years old.

    The department received an additional 1,200 doses of the H1N1 flumist vaccine yesterday, and are continuing their targeted vaccination campaign.

    So far, they have administered approximately 800 doses of the vaccine at the Eastgate Town Center location with 400 more appointments booked.

    Appointments are still available and can be made by calling the Health Department hotline at 209-8393.
