Friday Morning Accident Shuts Down I-75 South

    Written by Gary Poole
    November 6, 2009 – 8:32 am

traffic-accidentMany motorists driving into work Friday morning dealt with an unpleasant delay as Interstate 75 Southbound was shut down just north of the Interstate 24 split due to a tractor trailer crash requiring extrication of the driver.

Rebecca Royval with the Chattanooga Police Department advises all drivers to use alternate routes until the highway is reopened

“If you are traveling from Highway 153 South or Interstate 75 South, an alternate route would be to take the Lee Highway exit from Highway 153, Lee Highway South to Brainerd Road then South Moore Road which will take you to Interstate 24,” Royval said.

There is no information available at this time on the driver’s condition.  He was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
