Housing Authority May Sue City Over Fairmont Project

    Written by Gary Poole
    February 5, 2010 – 10:38 am

The Chattanooga Housing Authority is considering suing the city and Mayor Littlefield over his interference with their plans for the Fairmont Avenue property. Littlefield opposes plans to use $4.8 million dollars in federal stimulus money to re-build a housing development already there.

The city council recently placed a 120-day moratorium on issuing new building permits for the site.

The CHA says if they don’t move quickly, they stand to lose out on the millions in federal money.
