Indiana Man Dies In Hangliding Accident

    Written by Louis Lee
    November 30, 2009 – 3:51 pm

A hang gliding accident in the Henson Gap area along Walden’s ridge has claimed the life of an Indiana man.  Sequatchie County Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock says the man had just launched from the ramp owned by the Tennessee Tree-toppers Club when strong wind forced his hang glider back into the mountainside.

Rescuers worked for several hours to bring the body back to the mountaintop.

The man’s name will not be released until family members are notified.

Hitchcock says the man was 66 years old.
