Members of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity have been accused of assault and trespassing at a neighbor’s home. Chattanooga Police responded to 508 Fortwood Place this past Saturday evening on an assault call and were told by the home owners that ten men from the Kappa Sigma Fraternity entered their back yard and jumped into their pool.
The victims in the assault, Leigh Minnick and Brett Sullivan, said that they attempted to remove the men from their yard when they were attacked. Mr. Minnick said that he was struck in the head with a boat oar while Mr. Sullivan was punched in the mouth. After the assault, the suspects fled back to the fraternity house.
Responding officers attempted to make contact with the suspects at the fraternity house but were unsuccessful. Mr. Minnick was treated and released at a local hospital for a laceration to the head while Mr. Sullivan suffered a minor injury to the lip. UTC was notified of the incident but no contact was made with any representatives of the Fraternity at the time of the report. The incident is pending further investigation.
