Missing Dalton Boaters Bodies Finally Recovered

    Written by Louis Lee
    November 30, 2009 – 3:52 pm

All three bodies from a boating accident near Nickajack Dam last weekend have now been recovered.  The first of the three Dalton, Georgia fisherman was discovered Friday.   Marion County Medical Examiner Brenda Sowter confirmed the body was that of 49-year-old Angel Ocampo.

He was identified by his family.

The other two bodies were found in different locations.

One body had drifted down the river, and was found near Scottsboro, Alabama.

The other was found up against the Nickajack Dam earlier yesterday afternoon.

The boat’s motor died and it was sucked into the extreme current caused by spilling at the dam.
