    Written by Gary Poole
    August 28, 2009 – 4:07 pm

sam-parkerThe murder trial of former LaFayette police sergeant Sam Parker, who stands accused of killing his estranged wife Theresa Parker and hiding her body, is nearly over.

The final defense witness was Parker’s first wife, Denice Parker.

She testified that during their ten year marriage, he never once abused her verbally of physically.

Sam Parker declined to take the stand and testify himself, and the defense rested their case.

Closing arguments are schedule to begin Monday morning.
