    Police Cruiser Involved in Crash With Big Rig

    chattanooga_policeA police officer on patrol was surprised by the impact of a tractor trailer crashing into the rear of his cruiser. The incident occurred around 5:00pm Tuesday evening while the cruiser was stopped at a stop sign.

    According to witnesses, the cruiser was attempting to turn from 4th Avenue east onto 28th Street in the turn lane when the tractor turned east on to 28th Street from the southbound 4th Avenue lane.

    Sergeant Jerri Weary said that no one was injured in the incident but the cruiser sustained moderate damage while the tractor sustained little damage. The patrolling officer was able to immediately return to duty.
