    Written by Pulse Staff
    August 30, 2009 – 10:30 pm

police-arrestThe Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office was called to 1518 Thrasher Pike on a disorder at approximately 3:00 p.m. Sunday.  When the deputies arrived on the scene, it was found that the victim, Toni Boring had been assaulted by her brother, James Burnette.

The incident started over a vehicle and escalated to a physical assault, with the suspect hitting the victim about the head and upper body.   The deputies requested the suspect to come out of the residence but he refused.  Due to the incident becoming more volatile, deputies on the scene requested the SWAT team to respond to their location.

When the SWAT team arrived and made contact with the suspect, the situation was resolved quickly.  The suspect, James Burnette age 51,  surrendered without incident and  charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault.  He was transported to the Hamilton County Jail but his court date and bond is unknown at this point.
