    Erlanger’s Children’s Hospital To Expand

    Written by Gary Poole
    July 21, 2009 – 4:47 pm

Erlanger’s T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital is going to get even bigger.  Medical Director Dr. Alan Kort says the surgical unit is so crowded right now that he is worried they might end up losing patients.

The expansion plans will add six more beds to the pediatric intensive care unit and 14 more rooms to the outpatient surgical areas.

Erlanger C-E-O Jim Brexler said the improvements are in lieu of building a brand new children’s hospital, something that is currently not feasible financially for the medical center.
