Truck Driver Dies Behind The Wheel, Crashes Rig

    Written by Gary Poole
    March 9, 2010 – 2:46 pm

A 54 year old truck driver apparently died beyond the wheel of his big rig as he was leaving DuPont this morning, crashing his truck just short of the McKamey Animal Shelter.

According to Chattanooga Police investigators, Wallace Curtis had just picked up a load of 40,000 pounds of yarn and was turning onto North Access Road when he died of natural causes.

The truck went straight across the road into a grassy area and was stopped after running into a fence in front of McKamey.

Luckily, no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Curtis’ body has been taken to the Medical Examiner’s office for a complete autopsy to determine the official cause of death.
