    A Nation of Laws
I read with interest your interview with Rev. Mike Feely ["How Shall We Live", 11/25] and while I am struck by what a passionate and even inspiring man Rev. Feely seems to be, I think he, like so many others who work on behalf of illegal immigrants, is missing the one main point that the majority of Americans have about the situation. Simply put, ours is a nation of laws, and those who break the law to enter our country weaken the very thing that makes our country so attractive to outsiders.
One can be compassionate, one can be understanding, but one must also follow and respect the laws of this nation. And until the laws change, those that break them must face the punishment for violating those laws. To ignore the law merely because an individual is inconvenienced leads in a straight line to anarchy and chaos.
Furthermore, as your own Gustavo has written many times in his “Ask A Mexican” column, many American businesses ignore the law as well, and they too should be punished. If Pilgrim’s Pride wishes to be a good corporate citizen, they need to stop hiring illegals. If they don’t, they should be punished not only for violating the law but also to serve as an example to other unscrupulous employers.
Because when it comes down to the core, their actions are nothing less than complete disrespect for the very country that has allowed them to be successful and free.

    Ultra Is Too Expensive
I love my electric bike, actually bike(s) ["Four Wheels Bad, Two Wheels Good", 11/25]. I bought the EZIP Trailz this summer for just $400 and fell in love with the concept.
Now I passed that one to my wife and upgraded to one of the IZIP models that comes with lithium batteries for less then $1,000. Wow. It’s amazingly fun and I have been riding to work 3 or 4 days a week.
I looked at the A2B but it’s hard to pedal. Better as a scooter only. It’s really nicely built but so overpriced at $2,500 or more.
