Issue 5.51 River Gorge Explorer Is Fantastic551cover

We recently had teh pleasure of taking an excursion on the Aquarium’s new River Gorge Explorer. What a glorious trip! We’ve always heard of the natural beauty of the Tennessee River Gorge, but actually seeing it and experiencing it far surpassed our wildest expectations.
We feel a special gratitude to those involved in creating our fantastic experience, to our crew who had navigated the vessel through the exciting terrain, to the Aquarium who had created our opportunity to realize history and visit the beauty of nature, and to the Tennessee River Gorge Trust which has worked decades to preserve the natural beauty of this special place.
    –Tom Prentice, Rossville, GA

    Thanks For the Great Advice

Another great column with practical advice [ShrinkRap: "It's a Wonderful Life", 12/18], except, when I talk to myself, I get these strange stares from those around me. One must be careful to have a Bluetooth phone on one’s ear or you will surely become a candidate for local rehab center. Keep up the good work!
    –Ray Carioscia, Chattanooga
Editor’s note: Our Top Ten issue two weeks ago generated a lot of comments on our website, especially regarding our ranking of the Top Ten Christmas Songs.

Ten songs isn’t nearly enough! How about John Lennon’s “So This is Christmas”, Elvis Presley’s “It’s Christmas Time”, Eartha Kitt’s “Santa Baby”, Wham’s “Last Christmas”, Bing Crosby & Carole Richards’ “Silver Bells”, Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas”, Andy Williams’ “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”, Stevie Wonder’s “Someday at Christmas”, Paul McCartney’s “A Wonderful Christmas Time”, and Nat King Cole’s “Caroling, Caroling”. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Ella Fitzgerald, Burl Ives, Sting, even freakin (barf) ‘N Sync have great Chrismtas songs.
    –X-Mas Song Fan

What about U2’s “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”? Come on, now!
    –Chris

How about Kind Diamond’s “No Presents For Christmas”?
    –Steve

And in response to the Top Ten Performing Arts Things Chattanooga Needs in the Next Two Years:

    We need a Salsa club!
    –Estrella Starr
