15 Year Old Girl Narrowly Avoids Gang Shooting

    Written by Jeremy Lawrence
    July 2, 2009 – 10:27 am

police-graphicThis was a close call.  A Bonny Oaks man said yesterday that a bullet fired during a gang shootout narrowly missed his 15-year-old daughter.  James Michael Deal the second testified in court that it went a foot or two above where she was sleeping, shattering a nearby mirror.

This was in the incident last Wednesday on Holiday Hills Circle where police brought in 10 people for the shootout.

Others in the neighborhood said that it’s a different place during the day when children are out playing and families are around.

Some neighbors testified that same night that they heard the shots and feared for their lives.

Judge David Bales sent several of the cases to the grand jury, saying that gang violence has got to stop.
