    McCallie Ave Accident Leaves One Dead, One Injured

    traffic-accidentOne party is confirmed dead and one is in critical condition at Erlanger after being struck by two separate vehicles in the 1300 block of McCallie Avenue at about 4:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

    According to Chattanooga Police Traffic Sgt. Gary Martin, a pedestrian darted out into traffic and was struck by a vehicle which attempted to maneuver around him.

    Another driver that witnessed the accident stopped his vehicle to render aid to the first victim and was struck by a another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.

    Both victims were transported to Erlanger where the good Samaritan died after fighting for his life.

    The initial victim is listed in critical condition at this time.  No names will not be released until family members are notified.
