Brooks: Stormwater Meeting Today A “Charade”
Written by Louis LeeNovember 19, 2009 – 5:07 am
One Hamilton County Commissioner is calling a stormwater meeting to be held this afternoon in Chattanooga a “charade.” Commissioner John Allen Brooks has come out against the hike in stormwater treatment fees being imposed by the city.
He says he owns a vacant lot inside the city limits.
His property tax liability for the piece of land is 150 dollars, yet his stormwater fee will be 119 dollars a year.
City officials are holding a public hearing on the higher fees at 1 o’clock this afternoon in the city council chambers.
Pulse News will be there.
