City Housing Authority Rebounds Financially

Last year, the Chattanooga Housing Authority was on the verge of bankruptcy. What a difference 12 months can make. The 2010 budget has been set at $31.5 million dollars.
Roughly half of that will go toward the Section 8 program, nearly 12 million will go to low-income housing and the rest will go to operate the central office.
Housing authority Chairman Eddie Holmes said the small operating surplus is due to the hard work of his staff in running the department efficiently.
