    July 21, 2009 – 12:35 pm

shootingChattanooga Police Major Crimes have arrested Tracey Appleberry 40, 2006 Ivy St and charged him with Criminal Homicide in the city’s 13th homicide this year. Around 2:00 a.m. Chattanooga Police responded to 2000 Ivy St on a report of a person shot, Patrol officers located and confirmed that one adult male had been shot and was unconscious at 2006 Ivy St.

EMS transported the victim to Erlanger Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival in the emergency room.

The initial investigation shows an apparent argument between several parties sitting on the porch and subjects who drove up in front of the residence turned to shots being fired from the subjects who drove to 2006 Ivy St . Just before the gunfire, one of the subjects on the porch went inside and notified the adults of the situation outside.

Mr. Appleberry heard gunfire and then got his weapon and went outside and returned fire striking the deceased. Police are looking for another subject who drove to the residence and started this altercation.

Investigators are not releasing the name of  the victim, until family members have been notified.
