Mayor: Housing Authority “Embarrassment” To City

    Written by Louis Lee
    November 3, 2009 – 3:38 pm

mayor-ronChattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield says the Chattanooga Housing Authority is an embarrassment to the city. His comments were made at a called meeting of the authority last night.

Littlefield is upset about a planned housing project on Fairmount Avenue.

C-H-A plans to replace an existing 28-unit complex with a 48-unit building that, Littlefield says, looks like something he saw in Eastern Europe.

He also say the narrow road the complex is on would not liekly handle the additional traffic from 20 additional residents.

Many residents also spoke out against the planned complex.
