Murder Charges Dropped After Witnesses No-Show

Murder charges have been dropped against a 17-year-old because no-one will testify. Assistant D-A Ben Boyer informed judge Bob Moon that he couldn’t get either of two witnesses to tell their stories on the stand.
Prandel Fitzgerald Reid had been accused of killing Richard Ervin on Tunnel Blvd. last month.
Jomoke Johnson, Junior and Gary Johnson, both said they had knowledge of the killing but refused to testify. Now, both are missing.
Reid was not released after the dismissal … he’s still in jail on other charges. Judge Moon reminded the family of the victim that there is no statute of limitations on murder.
He told them the witnesses will be found and will be made to testify.
