hit-runChattanooga Police Traffic Investigators are looking for William J Forbis, a 26 year old white male, of 8 Williams St in Rossville, GA in connection with the hit and run traffic accident at 4200 12th Ave.  On July 17th, Chattanooga Police requested the medias help in locating the driver of a yellow Dodge Neon that left the scene of the accident at 4200 12th Ave where a 9 year old girl was struck.

The 9 year old girl was transported to TC Thompson’s Children’s Hospital with a broken leg and other injuries. She is now in stable condition.   Police officers on the scene talked with several witnesses who gave a description of the hit and run vehicle and stated the driver was a white male.

Over the weekend, the Chattanooga Police Department Traffic Division received many tips on the whereabouts of the driver of this hit and run accident.  These tips lead investigators to locate the vehicle involved in the crash along with identifying the driver.  Charges have been filed and warrants obtained on William J Forbis for:

Leaving the scene of an INJURY accident.
    Failure to report an accident.
    Failure to render aid.
    Driving without a license.

Police have information Forbis frequents the East Lake area and is known in Rossville GA.

At this time a photo of Forbis is not available; we are hoping someone who knows Forbis and the whereabouts of Forbis will call the Chattanooga Police Department @ 698-2525 with Forbis’s location.
