EPB residential customers will see a decrease in the cost of electric power, due to TVA’s quarterly Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA), on any bill printed on or after April 1, 2009. This is the second FCA decrease in a row, following the past quarter’s decrease for all bills that were printed on or after January 1, 2009.
On average, a residential customer uses about 1300 kilowatt hours per month – more in the summer and winter, less in the spring and fall. With TVA’s upcoming FCA, a bill for 1300 kilowatt hours will be about $7 less than it would have been compared to last quarter’s residential rate for the same time period.
However, depending on weather and how much energy an individual uses, TVA’s decrease may be larger or smaller on a customer’s bill. That’s why EPB suggests customers visit them online at www.epb.net for energy savings tips. Residential customers are also encouraged to schedule a free EPB Home Energy Audit by calling (423) 648-1EPB (1372).
TVA’s Fuel Cost Adjustment (FCA)
The FCA is a routine quarterly adjustment that TVA uses to collect some of the cost of fuel used to generate or purchase power, which is not included in their base rates. TVA’s next FCA will affect bills printed on or after July 1, 2009. For more information on TVA’s Fuel Cost Adjustment, go to www.tva.gov.
