Along with the many recent changes to The Pulse since we were bought by Brewer Media Group is a new focus on our website. We have a lot of cool things planned that we will be rolling out steadily over the next several weeks and months. We hope to see you coming back a lot more often to keep an eye on our progress.

One of the first things we are doing is bringing back the PulseBlog. This is where our editors and staff writers will keep you up-to-date with the latest news, information, and just plain fun things going on in and around the Scenic City. Sometimes we’ll be serious, other times we’ll have our tongue planted so firmly in our cheeks that we’ll look like overfed chipmunks. The trick is to tell which is which.

As I write this, our latest issue is on the way over from the printer and should start hitting the streets tonight and tomorrow morning. Lots of interesting stuff (as always) and some new features you might be interested in checking out. From a cosmetic standpoint, we’ve redesigned our contents page to better show you what we’re covering, as well as making it easier to find your favorite sections and columnists. On a more interesting note, we introduce a new column and columnist this week: “On The Beat” by Alex Teach. Alex is a local police officer who has a very interesting insight into the world of law enforcement. He’ll be contributing regularly on what it is like to be one of the “boys in blue”.

As far as this blog is concerned, we are sending staff writer Kelly Lockhart and staff photographer/videographer Josh Lang down to Atlanta to investigate Dragon*Con (read all about it in Arts & Entertainment this week). Kelly will be posting updates whenever the mood strikes, and Josh will be trying not to be overwhelmed by the costumed insanity. Dragon*Con updates will start tomorrow and run through Monday – yeah, it’s a five day convention.

As always, we love to hear from you. About anything. Feel free to drop us a line at info@chattanoogapulse.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it – just be sure to include your name, your city and a phone number we can use to confirm it’s really you (we never publish the phone number, it’s just a good policy). You can also email me directly at any time, I do my best to respond to each and every message I get.

    Enjoy the new Pulse.
