See the Artwork from the Women of Entre Nosotras
On Friday March 4th, the AVA Gallery will be opening up a new exhibit featuring art from participants of La Paz Chattanooga’s Entre Nosotras program.
Entre Nosotras means “amongst women”, an appropriate title for a program that was created to support and celebrate women of Latina heritage and bolster their place in the community.
Along with these women’s art pieces, local Latino artists, such as Olga de Klein, a visual artist known for her use of colors and mixed media design, will be showing their work.
Creating works of art is proven to release stress, help creativity flourish, and express culture; this exhibit is proof. The culture, background, and stories of these women are inspiring and no two are alike.
In a city as diverse as Chattanooga, one might think integrating into the culture would be easy. But for some, especially the Latino community, it tends to be difficult. Artwork is just one of the ways being utilized to unify people of all different backgrounds together through self-expression. Art unites souls.
Admission is free and the women in this program would love to share their work with you and the rest of the community. Grab a friend and come to AVA Gallery for the opening reception at 5:30 p.m. on March 4th.
The exhibit will be open through April 8th. If you’d like to know more about Entre Nosotras, visit lapazchattanooga.org.
