The Hamilton County Democratic Party will “renew its vows” to the community as it musters the largest contingent in years to walk in the 42nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial March on Monday, January 16, according to Executive Director Rev. Kenneth Love. “We believe this is the year the Democratic Party will renew the vows it has made to all Americans to be the party that stands for equal representation and justice, both economic and social,” said Rev. Love. “The time has come to put aside factions and unite. Democrats will not let the progress of the past decades be eroded. We will not let Dr. King’s dream—or the American Dream—fade.”
To that end, the HCDP will unite with young people and students, church members and labor to participate in the march, which begins at Olivet Baptist Church at 4 p.m. January 16 and ends at the Tivoli Theatre. Olivet Baptist Church, 740 East Ml King Boulevard. (423) 266-8709.
