Saturday, March 16th: 10-4pm - This is your chance to create a once in a lifetime original art piece, using the techniques and craftsmanship of Old World artisans. Together, we will take a journey back in time and recreate history. Using the art of sgrafitto, which means "to scratch the surface", transfer your creativity to the surface of a water gilded 22Kt gold leaf panel! Joshua Terney, an artisan of Shuptrine's Gold Leaf Designs who was trained by owner Alan Shuptrine, will give you step-by-step instructions to learn etching, burnishing, and finishing techniques on a provided water gilded 22Kt gold leaf 5 x 5 inch panel. The workshop includes your finished panel to take home, as well as a 30 minute water gilding class. Bring your own design, or one will be provided for you. Limit: 12 spaces.
